Mounting of an IGBT with PowerTwo Powerelements
IGBTs of this type are commonly used in electromobility, battery chargers and wind power systems.
In this application, the IGBT is contacted with the PCB via the two-part PowerTwo Powerelements. PowerTwo High Current Contacts are a solution patented by Würth Elektronik ICS and can be customized quickly and application-specific to the IGTB you use. The height adjustment can be done either by changing the height of Powerelements or by clamping a busbar between the IGBT and the Powerelements.
The IGBT is mounted in a few steps
Note: For proper processing, the PCBs must be designed according to the Würth Elektronik ICS Press Fit specification.
In the first step, the two Basic elements are pressed into the PCB, e.g. with a simple toggle press and a defined press-in force (in this application approx. 640 N - 4000 N). This creates a high-performance, gas-tight electrical connection with extremely low contact resistance.

In the second step, the matching push-in elements are pressed into the basic elements from the underside. Then, the IGBT is positioned on the PowerTwo High Current Contacts...

...and screwed with standard flange screws.
